Progress is never a linear journey, and it's normal to go through dips and peaks.

Whenever we go through the peaks of our journey, we feel like we're on top of the world. There's a spring in our step, and sometimes, it's even noticeable through how we radiate with pride through the energy we carry. However, when our progress is slowed or stuck at a certain point, we may feel bogged down and demotivated. Going through these temporary dips challenges us to pull ourselves back up. It may feel daunting at times, but necessary.

When we go through dips, it's best to remind ourselves what drives our progress the most. Here are a few ideas of what they may be:

The Feeling

If you're someone who feels that warm and fuzzy feeling of being able to achieve things— big or small— then your true motivator lies in The Feeling. You strive to feel joy in everything you do and rarely have trouble with relying on this to motivate you.

This may be you if your love language comes in: affirming yourself, giving yourself a pat on the back to recognize your efforts; you are comforted by silent yet sincere gratification from doing things.

Find it in: striving to attend classes & learn something new every day, keeping a checklist of tasks to do every day for a sense of reward for the little things.

The Connection

If you live for moments where you bounce off stories, ideas, and inspiration among other people, you'll find your true motivator in The Connection. You always leave conversations with people feeling inspired or challenged to see things differently. You're more likely to feel more driven when you connect and establish fulfilling connections.

This may be you if your love language comes in: forming real, genuine connections with others; you enjoy being surrounded and learning from other people.

Find it in coffee dates with your best friends or colleagues, brainstorming sessions with like-minded people, or joining community-based classes.

The Good Things In Life

Contrary to popular belief, being motivated by The Good Things In Life isn't anything to be ashamed of. If you're someone who feels more motivated to unleash your full potential with quality experiences or worthy investments, tune into it instead of rejecting it. Remember, there's a fine line between overconsumption and simply being motivated by what we deem as important and valuable in our eyes.

This may be you if your love language comes in: seeing beauty and easily being inspired by it; your vision board is something you work on all the time.

Find it in: the things you find would be worthy of your resources and effort.
