Hello! My name is Alexis. I love all things fitness and coffee! I spend most of my time cafe hopping and working out, I find that these activities allow me to feel my best self and serve as an escape from stress. Would love to be remembered as someone who enjoys self-care— both body and mental health.
Do you follow a ritual?
I am a girl who loves to have a routine incorporated into my day– it gives me a sense of control over my day. May it be as simple as plotting a time for coffee and scrolling through social media or even set a specific time for working out or afternoon naps. Routines allow me to allot time for self-care in the midst of work and responsibilities. At the end of the day, after all my routines have been done, I always make it a point to listen to my body in order for me to recharge for another day.
How do you incorporate or plan to incorporate happiness into your ritual?
For me, the first few hours of the day before work is always crucial. This can dictate what kind of day it would be for me, which is why I always make sure to treat my mornings as a little "me time". May it be catching up on the latest pop culture trends, the latest Tiktok trends, checking on posts from my favorite beauty influencers, or even what my friends and family have posted while I was asleep. Moments like these help me in gaining inspiration and a clearer mind to start the day.
What’s one thing you always look forward to when it comes to:
Day-to-day life.
I look forward to my dedicated "me time", this is the time of day wherein I can really de-stress and just be me— it can either be when I make my morning/afternoon coffee, go for long runs or even scroll through my social media platforms.
Weekly or monthly commitments.
I always make sure to keep my skin and body in check! Thankfully Simply Skin has helped me take better care of my skin and help with my troubled areas. Since I do struggle with acne, I always look forward to giving my skin its needed TLC. Moments like these make me feel my best and most confident self.
Yearly traditions.
Plotting weeks or even a few days to go on vacation, may it be local or international, is something I always look forward to. Because this is the time wherein I can freely let loose and just wind down or explore. This allows me to enjoy the fine moments in life and reset and reflect on everything – allowing me to feel and think better when I return to regular programming after the vacation.
What patterns or habits are you working on letting go of to get one step further toward progress?
I am currently in the constant practice of lessening the "introvert" side of me. As I get older, I slowly started to realize how my "shyness" has hindered me from showing my real personality and what I am capable of. May it be in work or even in content creation, I've learned that stepping back because of my shyness really will not benefit me in the long run, and thankfully I have been making progress when it comes to letting go of this pattern and have definitely been my happiest.
If you were to make a manifesto, what would you choose over perfection?
Happiness and self-content over perfection.
