The Changes Your Skin Goes Through— And How To Care For It

Our skin’s ever-changing. Navigate your way around what to expect and how to best take care of your skin as you go through those changes.

Like us, our skin goes through different phases and will never stay in stasis (although we wish it could sometimes!)

In the same sense that our approach towards skin could be personal— emotional for some, it also applies to how our skin changes in a way that goes with what happens in our life. May it be a change in pace, environment, or lifestyle, or just us going through the natural process of getting older, our skin's bound to manifest it.

While that fact usually entails having to move our routines around what our skin needs, it's a signal that we're not just staying the same throughout our journey. Far be it for us Women in Progress®️ to have that stop us from experiencing what life has to offer, so let's break down the changes our skin could go through— and what care you might need along the way.

Breakouts

Breakouts could happen through factors that range from external to more inherent ones.

Our skin has natural processes to get nourished and hydrated. Since it's a bodily function and can sometimes need a little help in terms of balance, some factors could come in and throw it off— causing an imbalance that triggers the overproduction of sebum. Usually, this happens when:

  • You're under pressure. Stress and the lack of sleep that comes with it could throw our skin's balance off.

  • There's a major change. From environment to weather, external factors like pollution and shifts in temperature could cause your skin to overproduce oils that lead to breakouts.

  • You're born with it. Women in Progress®️ who go through hormonal dips and peaks (hello, menstrual cycle) or those who are genetically more inclined to develop acne may have more encounters with breakouts.

Since these changes are out of our control, the care we need has more to do with working on healing, resurfacing, and further prevention. Laser treatments that come with a holistic approach could help you with post-breakout concerns like texture, scarring, and pores while making sure you're working on preventing or lessening the tendency for further breakouts from happening again.

Skin dehydration

Dehydration, especially in a tropical country like ours, may be one of the overlooked concerns of some Women in Progress®️, as we're often taught to skip hydrating and moisturizing to avoid clogging up our skin with the climate we have.

However, breakouts could still happen when we have dehydrated skin. The lack of moisture is the other end of the scale that causes breakouts, texture, and dull skin complexion. Dehydration could happen because our skin doesn't get enough nutrients, or our lifestyle has elements that drain out the needed moisture from our skin.

Pour your attention towards hydrating, moisturizing rituals that boost your skin's natural processes. Take the Essential Facial and see what our hydrating, no-pricking facial could do to rehydrate and usher in healthier, glowing skin.

Fine lines & wrinkles

The process of aging is one that every woman will have to go through, and it's often one that we don't meet with enthusiasm and anticipation.

While we can either feel neutral or positive towards aging, that doesn't mean your range of care for skin stops when natural signs of aging like the development of wrinkles, fine lines, and the sagging of skin start coming about. Introduce collagen-boosting treatments like the Ultherapy®️ to give your skin the nudge to tighten and minimize the appearance of fine lines and pair it with hydrating products to smoothen out texture & nourish it.
