If you pick apart your day-to-day routine, which things (no matter how small or how big) make it easier to commit to? Even better, what makes them exciting?
Women in Progress® are always on the lookout for ways to give structure to achieve their goals. Especially during a time of complete uncertainty, we found that we had to rearrange (or let go of) what was known to us. We've created new rituals that make it a little easier to get by. Looking back, they might have become a must for us now. With how things have changed, we find more value in the little things that make our routine easier to commit to and more suited to our priorities.
We can't deny, though, that there are moments when we have to reform our rituals and give them a tweak once in a while to have them work for us. Sometimes, we naturally get into a slump. While it's easy to blame it on ourselves (cue in the thoughts of us lacking discipline or enough will), it might signal that we need to find a better match to commit to our routines a little easier. Here's our share of tweaks we've done to our routines so far to make them easier to keep:
Adding dashes of excitement
We're breaking the myth of how excitement should only fill our 15-minute break times, holidays, and weekends. Now, we're squeezing in dashes of excitement in mundane things.
For us, this mindset sprouts from the longing for the weekend to enjoy and making that timeframe shorter. From days, we're cutting it to the next meal, the next cup of our favorite drink, or the moments when we step away from our desk. Let's add ways we can get excited by letting ourselves indulge in things that make you enjoy day-to-day a little more. If we find ourselves lovers of hot or cold drinks, let's get a fun mug to drink from or a new set of flavors for your palate to look forward to trying. Let's fill our breaks talking to the people who give us energy (while making wiggle room for some changes.) Let's create playlists that put us in a good mood. It's in these little ways that our routines feel like a breeze; never chores but ways to get to our goals without bogging us down.

Working Smarter
Trying out Smart technology seemed a little strange at first as we may have a preconception of talking into devices as something obnoxious (and often because calling out to air seems weird.) Once we stepped out of that notion, we found it more convenient.
Now we realize we've become a little more accommodating when it comes to our curiosities, as it takes as little as saying,
"Hey" to our phones or laptops regarding questions. Setting quick dates and notes whenever pen and paper were out of our reach also made less space for being stumped on fleeting ideas or phrases we knew we'd try to grasp later.
Our pick: Once we've become comfortable with our voice assistants via phone, we tried it out with the things like Smart lamps that make it easier (and a little exciting) as we embrace change and go through our routines. Mood lighting, here we come!
Going for what we can see & feel
Although we often try to foster space to figure out what we want for ourselves when it comes to finding the right groove for our routine, it's no doubt that we always yearn for what we can see and feel.
Our proof: how we perceive movement. We commit to body movement, not because we expect the results instantly but because we feel & eventually see progress that we can own and take pride in. We feel energized, and happier when we know we've done even a bit of movement, and we'd eventually see it manifest in other ways. It's in that framing that we get to commit to movement. We're not after the instant results that often drive us to disappointment when we don't follow through or see change take effect in a snap. It's more about how we feel a spring in our step, a little happier with the bursts of happy hormones. Eventually, we see it reflect through how we carry ourselves and how we're able to take on bigger challenges. Slowly, but surely. This is what makes it easier to commit to movement, and it's often the same for skin.
